Moorland Guides provide activities for people of all abilities. Whether you are looking for a short ramble or a whole day trek, you can find a walk just for you. To help you with finding a walk, you can filter our activities by using the options on the right. You can choose by theme, skill level or duration.
Every walk provides clear information about the route being taken including a map of the starting point, as well as information about cost, booking and if you can bring your dog. If you have any questions about the activity, you can also contact the guide for further information

Walk overview

A gentle guided walk along part of the Wray Trail, looking at the natural world of rivers and woodland, and the human world of a railway and nature conservation. The trail is a mix of tarmac and hard gravel.

05/09/2021 | Ten Tors Taster Walk Strenuous walk

Walk overview

Join Ten Tors Team Manager and trainer Shona Fernyhough for a challenging 12 mile walk exploring a taste of the Ten Tors challenge. We will be visiting a number of the Northern-most checkpoints in the challenge, including the start
and finish point and the highest point in the South West of England. Please wear robust footwear and bring waterproofs and food and drink for the day.
Shona is a great advocate of the many benefits of wilderness adventure. She greatly enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and love for the moor.

For capable 16 yrs and older only. Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult.

A walk through the prehistoric settlement of Rider’s Rings to the Avon Dam and return via the Zeal Tor tramway used to carry peat. We will finish by exploring the remains of the china clay works above the carpark at Shipley Bridge
