06/06/2020 | Hut Holes medieval village and the West Webburn valley Moderate walk

Walk overview

Part of this walk will be along the picturesque valley of the West Webburn river, the route of the Two Moors Way. We will visit the ancient hamlet of Jordon before dropping in on the ruinous Dartmoor longhouses at Hut Holes. Hopefully, we might see some March orchids in the wet areas along the river.
Part of the route could be muddy. Boots and waterproofs recommended.
Please bring a snack lunch and plenty to drink.
Bel Tor corner car park is about 2 miles from Dartmeet on the Ashburton road.

Walk overview

A chance to walk across the north moor and visit the Queen of the Moor on route. We shall meet at Fernworthy and take some cars to Lydford High Down and walk via
Lydford High Down, Hare Tor, Rattlebrook, Watern Oke, Fur Tor, Cut Hill, East Dart River, River Teign and Fernworthy. For Dartmoor 365 fans, we shall be visiting squares, G4, G5, H7, H8, H9, H10, H11, H12.
