This course covers the basics of map and compass use, enabling you to begin to navigate safely and plan a route. Complete beginners are welcome, as is anyone with some experience who wishes to consolidate their skills. The walk will be entirely outdoors, covering a circular route of up to 5 miles, learning and practising as we go.
We will be keeping our distance from each other in accordance with government guidelines. Do not attend if you or your household are showing any symptoms of Covid-19. Please bring a face mask, gloves and hand sanitiser in case of any accident or illness. The trainer reserves the right to make changes to the day or decline to take anyone in the interests of the health and welfare of the group.

Explore Bellever whilist you learn about Dartmoor Letterboxes. Hidden treasures, Bring some note paper to take copies of the rubber stamps. We meet in the forest car park at Postbridge, not the visitor centre or Bellever Forest car park. This event is free but donations for the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust are welcome.
