Mustard Seed Walks, at popular request will have a families walk from Postbridge Visitors Centre (SX646788). This will be a suitable walk for families with young children, of for those who don’t want to walk too far. As well as the attractions of the Visitors Centre, we will wander across the road to explore the area around Kraps Ring Bronze Age Settlement. Bring a picnic! Dogs welcome on a short lead, thanks.

Route:
This walk will give you chance to walk in the dark on Dartmoor. We hopefully will be walking in the moonlight, so bring a torch. We will learn about some of the many legends and we should see the sun set and moon rise if we get a clear evening. Bring a drink and a snack and where warm clothes. Dogs are not permitted on this walk.
Cost is £6.50 per person and you must book and pay in advance, limited spaces. This walk will book up fast so be quick. You can pay by Paypal, Cheque or Bacs.

Mustard Seed Walks will enjoy an interesting walk starting from Combestone Tor Car Park (SX670718). Following the pipeline path (the pipeline feeds Venford Reservoir) we will walk through an ancient forest to the reservoir (toilets there). Walking along the reservoir we will pick up an ancient boundary wall which after passing a triple stone row daters 4000 – 4500 years old, we will walk up to Horn’s Cross, before descending back to the car park. Dogs welcome, but on a short lead please.

Especially for the wild swimmers amongst you – join Sue for a varied walk up the military track from Belstone to the Taw Ford for a dip then up over Belstone Tor at the Higher Tor end and along a grassy track to the Nine Maidens stone circle and down to the East Okement for a dip in the waterfall pool, return via a bridle path and minor lanes to Belstone where there is an opportunity for refreshment !
The River valleys can be damp and the paths can be uneven, the Moorland section is largely on tracks but ground is uneven and can be boggy. Outwards track from Belstone is paved with gravel and stones. A steepish ascent to the summit of Belstone tor and a narrow, steep path to the waterfall on the East Okement and approximately 300m of height gained and lost en route.

This route goes across Harrowbeer Airfield and onto the Drakes Trail with some great views over parts of the western moor. We then walk down to Clearbrook taking in Devonport & Drake’s Leat and the tramway. This Category 1 walk for people using mobility scooters is also open to all walkers. Support dogs welcome
