This event is aimed at Ramblers who use disability access vehicles such as scooters, trampers etc as well as families with all-terrain push chairs. Anyone is welcome to join these series of events over the festival, which will stick to accessible tracks. Each of these events will be led by a wheeled guide experienced in accessible rambling as well as a Moorland Guide. Take a packed lunch with you and clothing suitable for the changeable weather on Dartmoor. This event will start at the gravel car park beside the main A386 road between Mary Tavy and Lydford on Black Down at the north end near where the cattle grid used to me. This is at the entrance where there is the drop down barrier leading to the Wilsworthy Ranges. This event will use the tracks and roads around the area with great views over the moors. The route is graded as level one / two so suitable for average vehicles. It was last for the morning and into the early afternoon.

Join your guide [and the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust] for a gentle stroll of less than two miles over open grassland and paths taking in the area of Bellever to learn about how people used to live on Dartmoor, the role the ponies played in their lives and how ponies are used today to help manage the moor. The walk will be restricted to Dartmoor 365 squares K11 and L11. Parking at the Visitor Centre is currently free but please check on current status nearer the date. There are facilities nearby and at the Centre. This is a free walk, but donations to the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust will be gratefully received.

Explore Bellever [Walking with Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust] to learn about Dartmoor Letterboxes and visit a number of these hidden boxes. A fun event and a very gentle stroll over open grassland and paths, all of our walking will be in Dartmoor 365 grid square L11. The walk will be starting from the car park below the forest which can be accessed via a track almost opposite the Visitor Centre. Parking is free. The nearest facilities are available at the Visitor Centre. This is a free walk, but donations to the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust will be gratefully received.

A walk with Tim Ferry to Piles Copse ancient oak wood (in 365 square U11) on the River Erme, looking at how different management practices affect the vegetation of Dartmoor and discussing what is best for the 21st Century. This walk of approximately 4 and a half miles will be over occasional clitter outcrops and through some tall bracken as well as open moorland. Parking at Harford Moor Gate is free, but there are no facilities nearby. Proceeds will go to the Air Ambulance appeal.

A fun treasure hunt for all ages walking around the streets of Tavistock. See things that you have not seen before. We will meet outside the Tavistock Town Hall on Bedford Square. Town centre car parks are free for users after 6pm and there are facilities nearby to the start / end point.. The walk will be limited to 365 square N2 and a distance of approximately one and a half miles over made pavements. Start time is anywhere between 6:00pm and 7:00 pm. Just turn up. The challenge should take about 90 minutes to complete.

Join Liz Miall for a brisk walk taking in Ger Tor, Tavy Sharp, Rattlebrook Foot, Hare Tor and returning via Willsworthy Range and part of the Lych Way. 365 grid squares include I5, H5, H6, H4 and I4. This moderate walk will cover approximately six miles, including some hilly, boggy and uneven ground as well as some stiles. This is a 16 mile walk for 365 square baggers! It will visit 10 Hills on the south moor: Zeal, Quickbeam, Green, Crane, Naker’s, Ter, Skir, Ryder’s, Puper’s & Grippers. Walking through 365 Squares: U14, T14, T13, T12, R11, Q10, Q11, P11, Q12, Q13 & Q14. This will be a lengthy trek on some difficult and remote terrain – be prepared! There is parking available at Shipley Bridge with a donation box – recommended minimum donation is £1.00. There are public toilets available and an ice cream van is regularly in attendance.

Designed for seasoned hill walkers who want to fine tune and develop their navigation skills. The day will build on basics of navigation then take them to a whole new level, giving you the skills and confidence to explore the most demanding terrain that Dartmoor has to offer. The Day is led by Gavin Kelly; Experienced professional Mountaineering Instructor, Mountain Training Awards Trainer/ Assessor and coach. The day will be centred around the 365 Grid square of N8 but will lead further afield according to the conditions. The walk of up to 8 miles will cover uneven moorland, clitter and potentially boggy areas. Pay and display parking is available at the Visitor Centre car park, and facilities are available nearby. Booking is required because places are strictly limited.

Join Lee Bray the Dartmoor National Park Archaeologist on this all-day long and arduous walk out to meet Alan Endacott to look at the Sittaford Stone Circle and the Whitehorse Hill Cist site. This is a repeat of last year because so many people wanted to come and we can only take 20 people out to this remote and isolated site. Please do not sign up unless you are able to walk all day in rough terrain. Alan will show us the stone circle he discovered and Lee will tell us the amazing story of this newly found and important Cist burial site.The walk is restricted to 20 only so book early to avoid disappointment. A copy of the Dartmoor National Park booklet about the Whitehorse Hill site is included in the cost. The cost is by way of donation to “Donate to Dartmoor”. We will be visiting the following Dartmoor-365 squares G10 H10 I11 J11 K11. The walk is over about 10 miles of long grass and rough ground, including some river crossing. Pay and display parking is available at the Postbridge Visitor Centre where there are facilities.

This event will start at the public car park near the river in Bellever Woods down the hill not far from the Youth Hostel, ( NOT up the hill near Postbridge) . There is a Pay & Display car park even for blue badge holders so take some coins with you. There are disabled toilets at the car park. This event will be a level two and also a level three ramble depending on what you want and visiting the moorland around Bellever Tor. Suitable for the more robust tramper type of vehicle. Reserve the whole day for this event. Meet near the toilets at 11am to give the guide from Cornwall time to get there.
