Welcome to the Moorland Guides
Dartmoor National Park is a place of beauty mystery, and diverse ecology, with a long history. Covering 368 square miles, it contains remains of settlements reach back to prehistoric times, and today it is still home to thousands of people who live and work here. It is in every respect a ‘living’ landscape, yet one that shares its ancient history with those who walk its paths and climb its tors.
With a National Park as large as Dartmoor, with so much to learn and enjoy, you may prefer, as many visitors do, to walk the moors in the company of a knowledgeable guide who can explain the moorland and take you to sites and sights you otherwise would miss. Find a walk by using the menu on the left. You can find walks based on date, location, or by your favourite guide.
